Don't worry about it...at our age we wouldn't live to harvest them. :rolling:
Got that right, had a fellow offer me a bunch of two feet tall sawtooth oaks for free, I am still laughing.

Yep, got a tad bit of heartburn as I type this. We cooked sausage and biscuits this morning at our camp.

Conecuh Sausage, am I the only one

I know this sausage has a “cult” like following, but I don’t like it. The casings are tough as leather and it has bone gristle the size of BB’s. I was raised on Jimmy Dean patty sausage and I am sticking to it.

BLT

My good neighbor gave me five nice tomatoes last week that have been resting in my window sill. Wife and I had BLT's tonight and still have two tomatoes left. Probably use them in a salad and I will be done on tomatoes until next spring. Can't stand winter tomatoes out of the grocery store.

I sure do like

We might have discussed this in the past, but I am old.

Jiffy cornbread. OK, let me have it, especially from the young guns that would not know a pone of old timey cornbread if it slapped you in your face. Also, no sugar added in my Jiffy, it has just enough already.

Re: Lima beans with ham and cornbread!

One of my favorite meals, my wife also puts ketchup on hers. We alternate navy, pinto, white and Lima beans with ham or ham hocks. Pone of cornbread and a dash or two of hot sauce and I am good to go. We eat this out of cups sitting around the fire ring. Getting close to that time of year.

Re: WATERMELONS

Finally found some good melons. A couple of young ladies have been parking at our local store selling late watermelons for $3.00 a piece. Between my wife and I, we have bought seven over the last couple weeks, all seven were sweet and tasty.

Re: WATERMELONS

Well chit, I have had a bad run on the melons. I been around the block a few times and let me tell you young guns something, if you split it and it is pink, give it to the chickens (now we are only talking water melons here)
