Re: Took the plunge!!

Welcome to the club! Being self sufficient and not having to hope WM has your ammo is priceless! I thought I was set for life with powder and components but picked up a new caliber and WHOA!!! IMR has lost their damn minds on powder pricing! I have enough to outlast me now so they'll not be getting ...

Re: First ones

DW, what recipe are you using for your 44 mag loads? Today I picked up a nice one owner Ruger 44 Carbine from 1984 and a nice used Ruger Souper Blackhawk 44 mag from 1993. Then I went across the county to Shooters Warehouse in Cullman to get 2lbs of H110 and 2 lbs of IMR 4227. I haven't had to buy a...

Re: First ones

DW, You're well on your way! The really addictive part of reloading is when you see that first kill laying on the ground with ammo you loaded ^^^^ THIS is for real! The feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment has to be experienced to be appreciated. And knowing that you'll never again be at the m...

Looks a lot like my trailer that my boat is on but my trailer has rust. And boat trailers usually bring a premium price. I’m gonna put that whole rig up for sale in the not too distant future.

Personally, I like 165gr Speer 2034 PSPBT over Varget or 4895.

Pulling on Ol' Blue this afternoon

Loading some .308 rounds. Yesterday my son told me he was out of ammo. Yep, yesterday. I loaded him 100 rounds of 168gr A-Max back in the Spring but he's misplaced 4 boxes. So, today I'm loading him 20 and loading me ten Speer 165gr PSPBT. Both loads shoot sub MOA at 200 yards. I have 9 rounds that ...

I’ve always liked Tallapoosa River fish in cold water,
The meat on cold water fish is firmer than a fish caught in sauna water. Fish caught in warm water are almost mushy right off the hook. I never was one to even bream fish after mid-May due to water temp being so warm.

Re: Indiana Hunt

An old classmate of mine used to hunt Indiana a lot and he may still. About 25 years ago I was in Don Stevens taxidermy studio when Don was mounting one of the bucks that Crisco killed up there. It had a lot of mass and decent tine length but the neck was enormous. It measured 30" around and Don sai...

Re: New Holosun HS407C X2

Would this be good on a Glock 40 10mm Wiley? I’m looking to be able to make shots out to about 100 yards with it. Don, I have no idea on that application. I've never had a red dot sight on a handgun before this venture. It does have the 2 MOA dot so it's more precise than the larger dots. It came h...

what did you plan to put it on? I was / am looking for a red dot, but I'm pretty sure I don't have RMR mounts.
I went with Holosun H407k with a 6 MOA dot. It actually went on a handgun that my son has. He and I both like it better. Less precise but faster target acquisition.

New Holosun HS407C X2

I bought this to mount on a handgun but the dot is smaller than I like and I went with a different model Holosun. It is brand new, never mounted and has the mounting screws, sight tool, lens cloth, etc all as included when bought. 2 MOA dot. RMR mount. This model has side battery loading so it never...

Re: Pretty fish

Pretty fish and fine eating! I wonder how big they get. I've caught a couple that might go a half pound and figured them to be whoppers. We got 'em in TN in the creek that's our north boundary. I've caught and cooked a few out of there over the years.
