Arkansas

Headed to Arkansas on Sat. We hope to hit it just right after the hard freeze and get some ducks on the ground. Does anyone have a recent report?

Ducks have been good this year to people I have talked to in Arkansas and Mississippi. You should do good.

We are here and it is slow. We missed it by a week. Maybe this heatwave (40) will help a little. The fields have still been froze so the only water is a spot that was knocked out.

The Sunday was below freezing and partly sunny. All the fields were froze unless you kept a hole knocked out which they did that morning. Yesterday was a high of 40 and partly sunny but dropped to well below freezing I'm a hurry. It was snowing sideways and sticking. We shot 7 green heads 1 mallard hen and 2 specks. They flew decent for a couple hrs. They got 2 inches of snow last night. On the drive home the roads were spotty from Memphis to cullman which was opposite of the way there which had bad ice from Memphis to Waldenburg.

It is a fun trip. A guy that lives close to me basically moves out there for the duck season. He has his guide license and he does that to pay for/towards his lease. If you decide you want to go I can send you some info. His trips include lodging and hunts. This year was more drinking and shooting the shit due to not hunting early mornings because of the ice.

About 4.5 hrs. It is near Waldenburg AK. I don't do face book but I think they have a page. Flag slough hunting club.
