Where will you be?

Post by sdw »

Where will you be most of the hunting season? Ground, ladder stand, climber, shooting house? I'll probably spend most of my hunts on the ground sitting in my tree seat. The rest of the time I'll probably be in a ladder stand. I like shooting houses when it's going to rain or I think I'm going to end up taking a long nap.

I've got a couple of places I really like to hunt once gun season comes in. One is a shooting house looking down a long skinny food plot. And the other is a short tripod overlooking a food plot, both are in the planted pines..... I love to stalk hunt too!

I think handicap and go from there. I have several (4 or 5) spots I hunt with ease. Very successful, and still enjoying it. I try to keep plenty of venison in the freezer, most years put at least three in the freezer. Last year I put one in the freezer (by choice) and today my wife informed me I need to step it up this year, we are almost out of meat.

Got a new spot this year, it is good for at least two if not three.

I spend 90% of my hunting in a climber.

Yea c'mon!

Past few years I've become a ground blind slut. Got a few ladderstands hung in hot funnels and a summit for going in blind to new spots.

When tha tailgate drops, tha bullshit stops. Everybody oughta go on at least one good dog hunt before they die. May be the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Been 20yrs since we've run hounds, lots of things have changed in that area.
