There ain’t no rain in the forecast till after Oct 1.
That sucks too...We planted our main club last week and the soil still had a lot of moisture in it....we planted our side land it was so so with moisture....guess we'll see how things shape up the next few weeks...

Saw several tractors with spreaders and 4wheeler with spreaders headed down the road yesterday and was thinking you guys are planting way too early
They might get some to come up but alot will die or be eaten by birds

Yep. That's typical September weather, hot and dry.
I won't even begin planting until the 2nd week of October.
I've already sprayed them all so they're ready to turn over, but no planting for a few more weeks yet.

I went to TN for the first time since January this past weekend. Bush hogged all the plots. Now gotta kill them then disc and plant so 2 more trips and hopefully germination temps hols till close to the end of October. Getting a late start this year.
The older I get the more I understand why roosters just scream to start their day.

It's a heavy burden, always being right, but alas it's my cross to bear. 😂

Finished mine yesterday too.
It was a long day, but we got em all done.
Still got two new shooting houses to set up, but I'll get there before gun season.

We planted on September 24 (mistake) and are just now seeing growth
Hoping this rain tomorrow gives them the boost they need

We planted ours on 11/13 right before gun season came in. Hunted this morning and they are starting to come in good. Saw 14 deer and 15 turkeys and they were eating the fresh stuff up
