For the ones who cook

Post by dnolen »

Who taught you how to cook? When I was little everyone would be out working the farm or working in one our furniture plants. I spent a lot of time with my memaw. (My great grandmother) she always had a full breakfast ready at 6. Lunch was at 11:00. No meat and 3 could compare to her buffet. supper was 6:00. And was rarley any left overs. I learned to cook and sew from her. After she passed my mother showed me what I didn't know. I know it's not the manly things I learned growing up but all my memories were made with cooking with my great grandmother. If only I could remember her plate apple pie.

My dad taught me how to cook on the grill....and I learned a few things from my mom....but mostly I learned on my own through trial and error.....I have cooked some nasty tasting stuff and still do pretty often. Head Slap

My grandmother taught me how to cook a lot of things. She also taught me how to sew. She said there wasn't no need for a man to be dependent on a woman to do everything for him. The rest I figured out on my own. Ain't no other choice when you're single and got 2 kids. You better learn how to cook or they will hate your ass tears
They won't really hate you, but they'll dread having to eat a meal at your house. My kids look forward to me cooking.
