Looking at getting in

Post by daniel white »

Ok I’m looking at getting into some rifle reloading. .243, .270, 7mm-08, .308, .30-06 and .300 win mag to start with.

I have nothing And starting fresh, Rock chucker supreme kit is what I’m looking at and need to know what else to look for. Where to find what y’all suggest, and what to look for that I can use and what’s a gimmick if there is such stuff. Im brand new to this so to speak and need all the help I can get. Thanks

Can’t go wrong with a Rock Chucker
With those cartridges you’ve named I’d say you need 2 or 3 different powders
IMR 4064
Varget
IMR 4350
The RCBS dies are good
You’ll need the books that coincide with the brand bullets you’ll be shooting….Sierra/Nosler/Hornady
Nothing more pleasing to see a sub .5” group at 100yds that you loaded and then kill a deer with it

You got any reloading forums you’d recommend to look at as well? I didn’t know if I could find some good used stuff little cheaper than new. I’ll probably only be reloading a few boxes per year or so. But I may be better with all new. This reloading stuff is all new material do me.

You’d be better off buying a kit made by RCBS and start that way
All the used stuff out there is so expensive you’re so close to new price it’s crazy not to buy new
Buy new books with the latest load data for newer bullets too
Many of the older books have outdated info and list powders that are no longer made
