Most of his beard was worn or broken off
His wing tips were worn way down
He had been at the business for some time to get in that shape

I should’ve killed this bird yesterday
I was headed up a steep hillside when he gobbled and what I thought was double triple and quadruple gobbling
I turned and worked my way back to that area and was going to set up on a knoll about 75-80 yds from him
Well I was focusing on the spot I was going to set up on which was next to a old road
Being laser focused as I was I didn’t see the hole that my foot went into so I went tripping and stumbling making a sound like clipclop the one eyed mule running up the road and it wasn’t just one gobbler but three took off out of that flat
They didn’t see me but they dang sure heard me
I took a chance they’d be there this morning
Two of them were

Way to go man! Got to be more careful! I'd like to have seen you tripping and falling. Its funny now but probably not when it happened. I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself. Now go get anothern!

There were only a few hairs that made it to that length and the rest were worn or broken
He had been going at it pretty hard
I’m going after his buddy tomorrow

Never did make it over there after his buddy but I’ve heard him several times
It’s a tuff walk to get over there and with the creek swollen it’s a NoGo
Might try it in a few days
Meanwhile I’m running traps when I finish my morning hunt and have caught 7 yotes and one coon
2 were adult males
5 were very young females and one of those was no more than 6 months old…wasn’t much bigger than a gray fox mount I have
