Pretty fish

Me and my wife went behind the house in the creek and caught some red eyes. We wore em out, caught over 20 with 10-12 of them eating size. After they lay eggs I’m gonna eat a few of em. They are probably my most favorite fish there is to eat. Them super clear creeks just make fish taste clean to me. That’s one reason I’ve always liked Tallapoosa River fish in cold water, versus hot summer time. Just seem to be better quality of meat to me. Hard pulling fish to. I knew they was some in that creek, but didn’t think we’d caught as many as we did in a hours time. Most of them was 8-12 inches long.

Pretty fish and fine eating! I wonder how big they get. I've caught a couple that might go a half pound and figured them to be whoppers. We got 'em in TN in the creek that's our north boundary. I've caught and cooked a few out of there over the years.

I know a creek not to far from here that’s got plenty of em in last time I was there. I just may need to go get me fish.. seems they like the ROOSTER TAIL SPINNERS.. I’m just a little spooked by what snakes may be around that bushy creek

I’ve always liked Tallapoosa River fish in cold water,
The meat on cold water fish is firmer than a fish caught in sauna water. Fish caught in warm water are almost mushy right off the hook. I never was one to even bream fish after mid-May due to water temp being so warm.

Yea, October through May is when I keep fish. I ain’t ever kept many in hot months. Hard to beat them winter time crappie.
