Mantainance question...

Postby bobwhite » Thu Nov 30, 2017 5:49 pm

I shoot a pump shotgun almost exclusively when I duck hunt and I clean it with Rem-Oil after every trip...what do ya'll think about a light coat of silicone spray on the slides and internal parts....any reason not to that you guys know of? Something like this..

I heard they sold out of silicone spray in New Orleans

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt anything. I like to use Strike Hold. I even keep a lil bottle in my tool belt, use it on everything from guns to door locks and even fat girls if you're caught in Mumford on a backroad when nobody's looking

Never tried it. I’ve always just used gun oil. I guess it would depend on how much water content it has.

Mantainance question...

Postby sdw » Thu Nov 30, 2017 10:50 pm

I’d be worried about any water content too. Could get ugly for your gun. You can probably get a MSDS sheet from them that’ll tell you everything in it. If they don’t have one on their website, check Grainger. They have a lot of different MSDS sheets available online.

Looks like this may be some pretty good stuff right here. May be the way to go.
